Therapy for Alcohol Use Disorder and Problem Drinking

We will work together to explore what’s behind your drinking and how it’s impacting your life. In our sessions, I take a compassionate, no-judgment approach where you can feel comfortable talking about what’s going on in your life. Together, we'll come up with practical tools to help you manage and move toward healthier ways of coping. You’re in control of your pace, and I’ll be here to support you no matter where you are in your journey.

Medication Management in AUD

In my practice, I incorporate medications like naltrexone, Vivitrol, and varenicline as part of a comprehensive treatment plan for patients with alcohol use disorder. Naltrexone helps reduce cravings and the pleasurable effects of alcohol, while Vivitrol, an injectable form of naltrexone, supports long-term recovery with consistent medication levels. Additionally, varenicline can assist in minimizing nicotine cravings and facilitate smoking cessation. Alongside these medications, I emphasize the importance of laboratory work to guide treatment of hematologic and nutritional deficiencies, and supplementation as indicated. Collaboration with your primary care doctor may be helpful. By combining these approaches—medication, nutritional support, and therapy—I aim to create a personalized treatment plan that addresses the unique needs of each patient, fostering a successful recovery journey.
