Congenital Hypotrichoses

Congenital Hypotrichoses are rare genetic conditions that result in little or no hair growth from birth or early childhood. These conditions are lifelong and often affect scalp hair, eyebrows, eyelashes, and body hair.

While not physically painful, the emotional and social impact can be significant—especially during childhood, adolescence, and early adulthood.

Emotional Impact of Lifelong Hair Loss

Growing up with a visible difference like congenital hypotrichosis can lead to:

  • Low self-esteem or self-consciousness

  • Social anxiety or bullying-related trauma

  • Depression or feelings of isolation

  • Body image concerns and identity challenges

Support isn't just about acceptance—it's about helping individuals build confidence, resilience, and healthy coping skills.
